Recent Work

The current owners purchased VALENCIA in 1994 and took her to Paul Rollins's yard in Eliot, Maine, and subsequently on to Bob Egar's shop for additional refinishing and restoration. A summary of the refurbishing and rebuilding follows, but a more comprehensive description is available upon request: VALENCIA had been damaged from electrolysis and she was bonded; all bonding was removed and all need structural repairs done to include new sternpost and several new planks, as well as 4 to 5 planks in the bilge area, reconditioning the rudder. The transom was rebuilt. Cockpit repairs. All wiring was removed and replaced with new DC and AC electrical panels, electronics, and batteries, replacement of all lighting, and essentially all systems to include the electrical system, refrigeration system with "super insulation," new winches, new portholes, new Edson steering, and complete refinishing. A more comprehensive description of the work is available on request.
